"What Do My Retina Photos Tell You?"

As part of my practice, I like to provide my patients a copy of their retinal photos. It's a great education tool, reminding patients the importance of eye health and having routine eye exams. A lot of my patients want to know what exactly they are looking at when they get their retinal photos and I usually go through the following:

Remember, retinal health does reflect overall systemic health. Any uncontrolled systemic diseases like diabetes or high blood pressure will be detected in the back of our eyes.

I guess you can say that the eyes are the window to your soul!
